Web 2.0 Tools: No One Get's Left Behind!*

Are you afraid you can't keep up with Web 2.0? It's really not that hard to make headway. After one day of using the following tools I guarantee you will feel empowered and ready to conquer the internet!

Join StumbleUpon, Skype and Google Reader and not only connect with me online but you will be familiarizing yourself with the tools an entire generation of humans already use.

1. StumbleUpon is a social bookmarking site. When I come across something I share with you I no longer copy and paste the url into an email I click a button on my StumbleUpon tool bar send it to you with a short note. My StumbleUpon homepage has all of the pages i have liked and reviewed... PLUS THE BEST PART -- I come across sites I am so grateful for! It's better than reading a magazine. I spend time stumbling and stumbling (learning and reading and laughing).

2. Skype: I use this as my "instant messenger". I leave it on when I am online. My cohorts send me notes and link and stuff... I know someone who uses it frequently to call England...

3. Google Reader... ANY FEED READER WILL DO. I just use Google Reader because I do.

FEEDS are the #1 way I navigate the internet. Please understand that this isn't a FAD. This isn't a little kid "social media" thing... it's like subscribing to a newspaper or magazine... anytime a site (whether it be a friends blog or a human rights site) updates you get an alert. No more wondering or forgetting. First thing in the morning I open up my email and then I open up my reader and drink my coffee...

Questions? Comments? Please do not be afraid to leave a question or comment here. You can use a code name :-)

*"no one get's left behind!!!" (photo from Little Miss Sunshine) one of the best uses of that phrases ever...

Faux Hubris

I just want to make sure y'all know I coined the term 'faux hubris'.

That would also sum up the entire career of Will Ferrell and Owen Wilson.

More on faux hubris if you want to hear about something awesome.

If you don't like hearing about awesome things then I won't waste my time spelling out for you something you are not interested in.

Besides I don't know if you'd get it anyway.

Nothing about you, it's just I really know what I am talking about and I wouldn't want to embarrass you.

I just can't stop loving Glengarry Glen Ross

I found this video a couple weeks ago (I think) from the Huffington Post RSS feed. (yay for google reader)

My content sucks as of late. All of my blogs have been on hold more or less...

I am looking forward to things getting back to "normal" after New Years Day.

My sources tell me his robot, Ro-BONG is doing okay. So stop texting him about it. The cost per text on the moon is OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Talkin' Tabooni? -- The "art" and "science" of talking about things that freak people out

Here's a one act you can read. (Plays are a great way of saying "I'm not saying, I'm just saying"

SCENE: Inside sparsely decorated corner apartment overlooking a beautiful Fall to Winter park.

BLONDIE A mean spirited, deeply enraged, slightly dyslexic 30 year old woman is sitting on the couch in front of her computer. She is talking on the phone: What's that you say? Sperm made contact with your egg and so the miracle of life is happening inside your uterus?

OFF STAGE You can hear the woman on the other line talking to Blondie

RETINA an elegant, dignified and grossly attractive lady with an appetite for deep religious thinking and exquisite taste in men:
Can you believe it? Isn't this great?

Blondie:
Gimme a break.

RETINA:
OH my god! Oh my god! Oh my god. Who do you think you are? You are a monster! I am giving birth! In 9 months I will be holding a baby! I didn't want to tell you! I'm pregnant and really confused! I hate you!

BLONDIE:
Wow. I'm sorry. You told me because you wanted me to be happy for you? How weird.

RETINA:
I am not seeking your approval! This is a big deal for me and I wanted to share it with you.

BLONDIE:
Really?

THE END

There really is no nice way to tell someone you are not impressed with their euphoric expression of fulfillment.

So don't say anything? Ever? Only behind people's backs (oh and those paranoids really hate it when you do that, know why? because that means they wouldn't be paranoid. They'd be clairvoyants.)

Just don't say anything at all. Because(and I quote from someone who really knows what they are talking about - not.)"what makes someone a friend is their respect for you as a human being and an individual.". SO by not saying anything I am respecting their right to do whatever they want. But if I don't also celebrate the news am I also not respecting my friend?

Non-breeders have rights. Do they have the right to remain silent?

I don't think so...

Breeders have the entire greeting card industry, the catholic church and the tax system behind them. Do they really need a Non-breeder's support?

Holy crap.

Maybe one reason pregnant women freak out if they aren't met with the warmest wishes of joy and happiness is because of a thing called cellular memory. Something in their DNA is telling them "WAIT!, Don't rush into this! It's really, really, really, really important for you to have a large quantity of support on this matter of creating a new human!".

Does anyone want to help clarify this issue for me?

Just to make things a little bit more confusing:

unorganized manifesto du jour and "Nailed It"

here's some stuff for me to sort out some other day!:

If I do not spend time in self reflection about my thoughts, beliefs and actions I will not live a morally responsible life.

In order for me to solidify my beliefs I might need to spend a great deal of time acting in accordance to that belief or it's opposite.

Honesty is deeply important.
Honesty is NOT truth but it essential in discovering what is true.
Truth can be transitory.

My nature does stem from a Christian upbringing. I must find out for myself which of the Christian values are important to me.

I want to know what it is like to live without the belief that there is a higher order to things.

Commonplace Nonsese: Everything happens for a reason.

Everything happens. But not because your actions are predestined or because there is a progressive path that the world is travelling on.

THOUGHTS DO NOT IMPACT THE PHYSICAL WORLD, actions do.

Greed is the number one driving force behind poverty, disease and social inequality in America.

Feel guilt for poor actions . Do not feel guilt for enjoying a life unimagined by our ancestors. If we are acting socially responsible we will not feel bad for not aspiring to "the status quo".

Living below the poverty line is not a result of being lazy.
Income does not indicate a persons worth.

A woman president who is a member of the corrupt system will not help women.

Health care is love. Providing health care to every human in America is like giving every human in America a hug that makes them a better person.

Cats are the missing link for evidence of alien life on earth.
The number 23 is just a number.
The Internet is not evil.

I'm greedy. You're greedy.

greed·y (grē'dē) pronunciation

1. Excessively desirous of acquiring or possessing, especially wishing to possess more than what one needs or deserves.
2. Wanting to eat or drink more than one can reasonably consume; gluttonous.
3. Extremely eager or desirous: greedy for the opportunity to prove their ability.

[Middle English gredi, from Old English grǣdig.]
greedily greed'i·ly adv.
greediness greed'i·ness n.
